Easter Parade to travel from Union City to Downtown Atlanta

ATLANTA --  This Easter weekend churches of all different denominations will be celebrating and gathered in prayer.  The Resurrection Parade is one of the biggest 3 day praise events that stretches from Union City all the way to Centennial park in downtown Atlanta.  Details about this event are below.

The Resurrection Weekend Celebration events are being hosted for the seventh year by Resurrection House for All Nations, a multi-cultural, nondenominational, full-gospel Christian ministry. For the first time, the events are being held in Downtown Atlanta for greater visibility and reach throughout the metro region.

The first of the two-day events is the Prayer Rally, where Christians of various affiliations and denominations will unite along with civic and spiritual leaders at the steps of the State Capitol in a solemn assembly to pray for the community, state and nation. There will also be musical performances.

The second event is the Resurrection Parade, a colorful, high energy procession more than two miles long made up of floats that tell the story of the Passion of Christ, from the triumphant entry to the resurrection. The floats will be interspersed with more than 100 cars brightly decorated with personal testimonies. The procession will travel nearly 25 miles from Union City through College Park, East Point, West End, ending in Downtown Atlanta.

The Parade will culminate with the final event, a triumphant Praise Rally at Centennial Olympic Park, featuring performances by choirs, musicians, singers and dancers. Remarks will be given by civic and spiritual leaders.

Resurrection Weekend Celebration events are free and open to the public.
