Arrest made in SW Atlanta shooting

ATLANTA – Police have made an arrest in a July 11 shooting that injured one and left another dead.

Officials confirmed that they took Larry Deon Reynolds into custody on Wednesday after investigators secured a murder warrant.

Reynolds refused to speak to police and was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

According to investigators, the incident happened around 11 p.m. on Bent Creek Way. A group got into an argument and a shooting erupted.

One person, later identified as Jared Brown, died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police believe a man shot in the leg was the intended target. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Many at the scene were familiar with the victim and held a vigil for him at the site of the crime, writing chalk messages in his honor and saying prayers to remember him.

He was described as a funny and friendly person.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
